Joining ACFID
Application Process
Decisions on applications for ACFID Membership are made by the ACFID Executive Committee. All applications are reviewed against the following mandatory requirements:
General Requirements
ACFID members and consulting affiliates must:
- be Australian (incorporated in Australia)
- be a voluntary organisation
- be a not for profit organisation
- conduct activities in the fields of co-operation in international relief and development, development assistance, development education and/or related services in Australia that are consistent with and supportive of the objectives and purposes of ACFID.
Governance Requirements
ACFID members and consulting affiliates constitution or governing instrument must at a minimum include:
- the Organisation's basic goals and purposes
- the governance structure (must be clear, transparent and accountable)
- the frequency of governing body meetings (at least two per year)
- the size of a quorum
Additional Requirements
ACFID members and consulting affiliates:
- Must have been operational for a minimum of twelve months.
- Must be able to provide an annual report of activities and audited financial statements.
