ACFID’s Strategic Plan 2020-2025 was developed by ACFID’s Board and launched at our National Conference in October 2020. The Plan guides our work, ensures accountability for the decisions we take and enables us to monitor and measure our success.
Priority Domains
Climate Change
ACFID drives effective and inclusive responses to climate change to reduce poverty and inequality and promote sustainable development. Our work in this area includes advocacy and engagement to promote climate change as a fundamental pillar of Australia’s development and humanitarian policy and practice, and to ensure ACFID and our members act with clarity, consistency and urgency in responding effectively to climate change.
Civil Society
ACFID supports civil society organisations in the Asia-Pacific to strengthen their ability to respond to opportunities and challenges, as well as raising and amplifying the voice of civil society actors and responding to challenges to civic space. Our work in this area recognises that civic space around the world is shrinking and that COVID-19 has accelerated that trend.
Advocacy for Change
ACFID is an influential voice on critical and emerging issues impacting the achievement of inclusive and sustainable development and humanitarian practice. ACFID engages with government to foster an open, accountable and fair enabling environment for international development and humanitarian practice.
An International Development Standard
ACFID is enhancing the accountability, transparency and effectiveness of the development and humanitarian sector, through the ACFID Code of Conduct and expanding the Code’s reach and influence.
A High Performing Sector
ACFID is fostering collaboration and learning, and providing insights to ensure that Australia has a high performing development and humanitarian sector.
