ACFID available for foreign aid budget comment
ACFID is the independent peak council for Australian aid and international development organisations, working for a world where gross inequality and extreme poverty are eradicated.
In 2000, 189 Heads of State including Australian Prime Minister John Howard, agreed to halve the number of people in the world living in extreme poverty by 2015. ACFID will be scrutinizing the aid and international development budget to see that Australia’s bipartisan commitment to halving global poverty stays on track.
ACFID’s in‐depth analysis of the aid and international development budget will also be available on Tuesday evening, after the budget is handed down.
