ChildFund Australia launches short film to celebrate 20th anniversary of Convention on the Rights of the Child

Tuesday 17 November 2009

ChildFund Australia has today launched a short film to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The film features children aged 10 to 16 years from Cambodia, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia, as well as children from Australia and New Zealand.

Entitled More Than Words, the film reveals children have their own ideas about rights – what they are, why they are important and how they impact on their lives. It also highlights the challenges some children face in realising their rights, for example, to education and to safety and security.

Watch More Than Words at ChildFund Australia (which also gives some background about the film and ChildFund’s rights-based approach) or on YouTube.
