Revised signatory application process
The revised Code of Conduct has a new application process which includes a Compliance Self Assessment and Provisional Code (PCC) Signatory Status. Agencies applying to become a code of Conduct signatory in 2011 should follow this process and refer to the Implementation Guidance Document for guidance.
The signatory status flowchart gives an overview of the new signatory status classifications, including provisional code signatory.
How to apply for Code of Conduct signatory status:
Step 1: Prepare copies of all the following:
- Governing instrument
- Most recent Annual Report
- Audited Financial statements
- Child protection policy. For guidance, see Implementation Guidance – Protection of Children: Section B.3.4
- Gender equity policy. For guidance, see Implementation Guidance – Human rights and anti-discrimination: Section D.5.4
- Separation of aid and development and non-aid and development activities policy, see Implementation Guidance – Non-development activity: Section B.1.5
- A completed Compliance Self Assessment
- Business registration

Please note: Supporting documentation must be completed and assessed by the Code of Conduct Committee within 12 months of applying or the application will expire.
What happens Next?
- the Code Management Team makes an initial application assessment;
- the Code of Conduct Committee’s Membership Working Group (MWG) meets on a quarterly basis to assess applications; and
- the Code of Conduct Committee considers the MWG application recommendations and determines the signatory status of applicants.
Your organisation may be approved as a signatory or be required submit further information. If further information is required, you may be approved for Provision Code (PCC) status.
