Becoming a signatory

Why become a Code of Conduct signatory?

Being a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct makes you part of a network of Australian international aid and development organisations which are demonstrating their commitment to conducting their work with transparency, accountability and integrity.

Being able to display the Code of Conduct logo on your organisational documents identifies your organisation as one that takes accountability seriously and is committed to achieving best practice within the international aid and development community.

NGOs wishing to attain Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) accreditation are required to formally adopt and become a signatory to, and demonstrate compliance with, the ACFID Code of Conduct.

Becoming a signatory

The ACFID Code of Conduct is a key element of ACFID Membership. ACFID Council decided in October 2011 that organisations applying to become Code signatories must also apply for ACFID membership. Existing signatories to the Code that are currently not ACFID members have until November 2013 to make this transition.

For eligibility criteria, Members’ rights and Members’ obligations, please see Membership Information.

Learn more about the benefits of becoming an ACFID member at Benefits of Membership.
