Code of Conduct
The ACFID Code of Conduct (the Code) is a voluntary, self-regulatory sector code of good practice that aims to improve international development outcomes and increase stakeholder trust by enhancing transparency and accountability of signatory organisations. It was developed in 1997 and comprehensively revised in 2010.
During the life of the ACFID Strategic Framework 2011 – 2015 the Code will become a flagship of ACFID membership.
NGOs wishing to attain Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) accreditation under the Australian Non-Government Co-operation Program (ANCP) are required to become a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct.
ACFID assists members to comply with the Code by tailoring its learning and development program around the Code requirements, through a combination of face to face, on line and webinar programs.
The Code has annual compliance mechanisms which organisations must submit to ACFID and an independent complaints handling process.
