| | 10 March 2010 | | | This one-day ACFID Development Practice Committee (DPC) seminar is aimed specifically at senior practitioners who are experienced in program design. It will be facilitated by Paul Nichols, Technical Group Manager for Quality and Performance Management at AusAID.
The seminar will consider the impact of the global aid effectiveness agenda on traditional approaches to project design and look at alternative tools for the design process. Theoretical issues in alternative design processes will be presented, however the focus will be on the practical application of alternative management tools through case study examples, including 'systems' approach to design, 'partnership' models for design, 'dialogue' methods for measuring success, 'theory of change' as an alternative to linear program logic, and outcome mapping.
Full details, including registration forms, are available at ACFID: Alternative Approaches to Design.
