ACFID Council

What is ACFID Council?

The annual two-day ACFID Council meeting includes the annual general meeting and provides a forum to debate current aid and development issues, establish policy principles for ACFID and elect the executive committee and office bearers.

Council includes a Chairs and CEOs dinner, presentations and workshops, Members' Open Forum, the AGM, and a Council dinner.  The ACFID Sir Ron Wilson Human Rights Award and the ACFID Outstanding Contribution to the Sector Award are presented at Council.

Each year keynote presentations and workshops relate to a topical theme. Past themes have included Global Challenges: Influencing the development agenda (2007), Climate Change: A changing climate (2008) and Women and children as the foundation of development (2009).
