Internship opportunity with three of Australia’s largest child focused INGO’s
Are you passionate about children’s rights? Would you like to gain more experience with Australian based International Non--‐Government Organizations (INGO’s) who specialize in children’s rights?
The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID)’s Child Rights Working Group is offering a unique opportunity to conduct a part time internship at three INGO’s in Melbourne over 6 months (late January 2015 - July 2015).
The internship will provide an opportunity for a graduate in a related field to gain experience with volunteering at different international NGO’s, to learn more about and contribute to improvements in children’s rights and to increase the outputs of the working group.
Tasks will include conducting research, developing documents and/or videos and assisting with the coordination of learning events for the development sector around child rights.
Applicants should address these essential criteria in their application:
- A passion for children’s rights;
- Post graduate degree (or currently undertaking one) in international development or a related field;
- Sound communication skills, both written and oral;
- Ability to conduct desk based research; and
- Strong critical thinking/analytical skills.

ACFID - ACMC Civil Society Liaison
The main purpose of this position is to facilitate opportunities to: provide the perspective of independent civil society on humanitarian action, improve awareness and coordination in civil-military engagement and preparedness, and to influence government policies and decision-making.
The role holder would be employed by ACFID and be seconded to the ACMC four days a week to assist in brokering, convening and linking the stakeholder networks of both ACFID and the ACMC.
