Piloting ACFID’s Effectiveness Framework Toolkit

ACFID is seeking to engage an external consultant(s) through a competitive Expression of Interest (EoI) to pilot a draft Effectiveness Framework Toolkit.

The Effectiveness Framework Toolkit guides agencies through a series of steps to develop an effectiveness framework while also providing background on the aid and development effectiveness debate; and explaining different approaches to effectiveness frameworks that have been used by Australian NGOs.

The objectives of the consultancy are to:

  • test and refine the Effectiveness Framework Toolkit;
  • enable up to three small member agencies to develop a framework for their organisation;
  • collect case studies on the development of an effectiveness framework, based on the experiences of the agencies; and
  • hold a learning event to share learnings and approaches with other ACFID member agencies.

For more information, please see the Terms of Reference. EOIs should be submitted no later than Monday 5 May.

Mock Ethics Review

ACFID is seeking to engage an external consultant(s) through a competitive Expression of Interest (EoI) to create and document a Mock Ethics Review process and accompanying reflection workshop. The overarching questions guiding the approach taken to this activity are:

What are some of the emerging ethical challenges facing NGOs and their partners when commissioning, conducting and disseminating findings from applied development research? What further guidance is needed? How might an ethics review process offer ongoing support?

The main objective for this consultancy is to develop and document a pilot mock ethics review process and to lead and facilitate an accompanying reflection workshop. The purpose of this activity is two-fold: to socialise the use and application of ethical principles and guidelines for research (with a particular emphasis on ACFID’s recently developed principles); and to support the planned or ongoing research projects being conducted by ACFID members and their partners.
