Government Relations Adviser
The role of the Government Relations Advisor is to support the development of ACFID’s main policy and communication messages to Parliament, the media, and the wider public. The role is responsible for organising ACFID’s parliamentary engagement for the Executive Director, ACFID’s Executive Committee, and for organising relevant member events. The Government Relations Advisor will also assist in building and managing risk in regards to ACFID’s brand and the sector’s reputation. The position works closely in coordinating other similar roles in ACFID”s members through ACFID’s Advocacy and Public Policy Committee, and closely with ACFID staff as a member of the ACFID Advocacy team.
The main purpose of the position is to help achieve ACFID’s strategic advocacy goals by ensuring the effective management of ACFID’s external relationships and communication with Parliament and media interested in international development, human rights and humanitarian issues.

ACFID offers a package comprising a salary of $78,238 per annum, plus 9.25% superannuation. Under current taxation laws, up to $15,900 of the base salary may be taken as a tax-free fringe benefit which would equate to a fully taxable salary of approximately $86,000.
