Monday 22 February 2010 | | | This February 2010 ICRC publication, Haiti: from tragedy to opportunity, argues that the disaster of Haiti is not just the earthquake but 'what happens when an extreme natural event occurs in the lives of people who are already frighteningly vulnerable'.
The report also says that this 'is a rare opportunity to effect large-scale change where it is so desperately needed ... an opportunity to put power into the hands of the people affected by the disaster'. (ICRC - Publications) | | |
