At the Scene of the Crime: Essays, reflections and poetry on East Timor 1999-2010 by Pat Walsh, a much respected and creative activist involved for 40 years in support of the people of East Timor/Timor Leste. This included Pat working in East Timor during the first ten years of its independence, especially as a key participant in the CAVR reconciliation commission. While focussed on Timor Leste, the book addresses a wide range of issues, including reconciliation, forgiveness, human rights, the role of the church, historical justice and memory.

Pat received the Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day 2012 Honours Awards.
