What’s this workshop about?

The workshop will provide participants with an overview of the Code of Conduct and the trends in development thinking which inform it, information about how the new Code differs from the old, and detailed information about key areas of Code compliance.

 

Who should attend?

This workshop is aimed at staff, volunteers and board members of Australian aid and development NGOs. It is suitable for people new to the Code of Conduct as well as those in the process of moving from the old Code to the new.

 

Objectives

By the end of this workshop participants will

  • Understand how the ACFID Code of Conduct came about and what it covers.
  • Understand the relationship between the Code and current thinking around development effectiveness and accountability.
  • Be aware of the differences between the new Code of Conduct which takes effect this year and the old.
  • Understand key compliance issues and how to address them.
  • Have a better understanding of their own Code-related responsibilities within their organizations.
  • Be aware of a range of resources to assist them in implementing the Code.

 

Facilitator

This workshop will be facilitated by ACFID’s Code of Conduct Manager, Cath Blunt.

 

Training format

The workshop will involve a mix of presentations, discussions, and exercises. Participants are encouraged to share experiences, tools and ideas. Participants will be provided with a resource folder for reference during and after the workshop.
