The purpose of this statement is to let you know about the information collection procedures of ACFID. Our commitment to protecting your privacy ACFID is strongly committed to protecting your privacy. Any information that is provided to our organisation is only used for the purposes for which you provided it. We do not release our contact lists containing personal information.
Our commitment to data security ACFID will take all reasonable steps to ensure that information we collect is stored in a secure environment. We cannot however, guarantee the security of any data you transmit to us over the internet. To this end, our online credit card facility utilises an accredited gateway service.
To protect you from internet fraud, we provide a range of options for information collection and contacting us – for example email, internet, mailing address and a telephone/fax. ACFID operates a current internet security system.
What information do we collect? Primarily we collect information on member and non-member organisations and their staff. We receive and store any information you enter on our website or give us in any other way; including:
- Contact information (name, address, e-mail).
- Professional organisation details/affiliation with ACFID.
- Statistical internet site information (anonymous) — see ACFID Website below.
We do not store credit card information that is provided online.
How we use the information? We collect information in order to:
- Process accounts and provide receipts.
- Process training/conference details.
- Disseminate sector/member information.
- Maintain accurate details of organisational history.
- Keep members/associated organisations informed of our work.
- Keep accurate member records/details for directory listing (link to member directory).
Your rights All people or organisations for whom we have details recorded have the right to ask for a copy of these details at any time.
People also have the right to update and/or alter their details at any time.
Personal information collected will not be disclosed, nor details altered, until your identity has been confirmed.
ACFID will make every reasonable effort to ensure that children's privacy and other rights are respected and not compromised. It is however, ultimately the responsibility of parents to monitor their children's internet usage.
Should you have any issues in relation to the Australian Council for International Development and your privacy, you can raise this with our Business Manager who will address your concerns.

Website user information collected We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use 'cookies' and web server logs and we obtain certain types of information when your web browser accesses the ACFID website.

Refunds for training or events will only be given for cancellations received until the closing date. Refunds may be subject to a cancellation fee.
There is a strict no return policy for ACFID publications.
In the ordinary course of business, ACFID will not deliver merchandise outside of Australia. For those seeking overseas delivery, please contact the Secretariat to enquire about the possibility of such a service.
ACFID does not store credit card details which have been provided online.
ACFID will only collect information, such as your contact details, to enable us to maintain accurate records and provide you with services you seek.
