Resiliency in Africa: Global Implications

The ACFID Humanitarian Reference Group hosted the 2008 Humanitarian Forum Resiliency in Africa: Global Implications in Melbourne on 17 and 18 March.
The purpose of the conference was to:
  • Understand what makes a resilient community in Africa (with a recognition that there is no one framework) and
  • Explore the best practice models within some of these communities.
Day 1 featured Advocate Bience Gawanas as keynote speaker,  presentations from program officers currently working in Africa and workshops.
Day 2 was open to the NGO sector, to further workshop the themes presented on Day 1.
