Child Rights Working Group
The purpose of the group is to share approaches to child rights programming and raise awareness of the importance of addressing child-focused issues across development sectors.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child declares children everywhere should have:
- the right to survival
- the right to develop to the fullest
- the right to protection from neglect, abuse and exploitation
- the right to participate fully in family, cultural and social life.
Facts and figures
- poor nutrition results in 50% of children under five dying from an infectious disease
- 1.8 million children die from diarrhoea caused by a lack of clean water and sanitation
- 10 million children die preventable deaths each year
- over one million children are trafficked across the globe every year for sexual purposes
- it is estimated that 10 million children around the world are subject to sexual exploitation
