| The Human Resources Task Group (HRTG) provides a forum for human resources (HR) managers working in the humanitarian aid and development sector. The HRTG initiated the Development and Humanitarian Assistance Project. The Project aims to provide a competency framework to underpin work in the development and humanitarian assistance sector. The proposed competency framework will provide: - a description of skills and knowledge recommended to prepare workers entering the development and humanitarian assistance sector;
- a foundation for training delivery to enhance consistency of training outcomes;
- a basis for assessment of workers' existing skills and knowledge to enable training to target identified gaps; and
- a basis for recognition of competence angainst nationally endorsed units of competency.
Other important HR areas of work that the HRTG is involved in are: - recruitment
- OH&S
- performance management
- learning and development.

| Remuneration Benchmarking ACFID’s Human Resources Task Group (HRTG) has been working to provide remuneration benchmarking information for the aid and development sector and have successfully partnered with CSi - The Remuneration Specialists to make available remuneration benchmarking data that is 'sector specific'. ACFID members will have access to a special CSi arrangement and so an ACFID-specific order form will be used to process any purchase of either the 2007 or 2008 survey. Non ACFID members are able to purchase the NGO Salary Survey as per standard CSi business terms. Key dates for the 2008 survey: - mid February — pre-survey meeting held to orientate new subscribers to the survey and discuss any changes for the 2008 edition;
- 7 March — data capture spreadsheets sent out for clients to enter their remuneration and job match information;
- 4 April — data due back to CSi;
- 13 May — survey released;
- mid June — Remuneration Forum for all subscribers to come together to discuss the results.
