Independent Review of Aid Effectiveness — ACFID response


On 16 November 2010, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Kevin Rudd announced an independent review of aid effectiveness.

ACFID put out a media release welcoming the announcement of the independent review (16 Nov 2010), having previously called for such a review because of the challenges facing Australia's aid program in coming years as it doubles to reach 0.5% of Gross National Income by 2015/16.

ACFID then convened a press conference with Marc Purcell (ACFID Executive Director), Tim Costello (CEO of World Vision Australia) and Julia Newton-Howes (Chief Executive of CARE Australia) which attracted widespread media attention, including:
